Highlights:
 
Career .350 hitter.
Won Class C State Tournament in 1992 as member of Muskies. Hit .364 that year.
Won highest batting average on high school team, 73-74 season.
All Conference in 74-75, as part of Conference winning Kimball Cubs.
MVP of amateur team, 1977.
Possessed great defensive skills. Twice made junior varsity team in college for St. Cloud State but left to coach and pursue career in journalism.
Caught major league players Greg Thayer and Gary Serum during collegiate days.
Had quick release and strong arm whcih allowed him to throw out some of the top basestealers in Central Minnesota.
Was so addicted to baseball that he regrettablly missed oldest daugher's First Communion to play game.
